Report: Broncos' LenDale White out for season

09/03/2010 - Denver, CO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Denver Broncos running back LenDale White is reportedly out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

The Denver Post cited an NFL source in its report on Friday.

White was hurt during the second quarter of Thursday's 31-24 preseason loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Denver native was already scheduled to sit out the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

White was signed by the Broncos on August 4 after he was cut by Seattle in late May. The Seahawks had acquired him from Tennessee this April.

A 2006 second-round draft pick of the Titans, White has rushed for 2,349 yards and 24 touchdowns on 628 carries in 58 career games. He also has caught 42 passes for 204 yards.

Arizona, however, could not sustain their momentum and the Eagles took a 25-24 with 10:45 left to play in the fourth. The Cardinals, with the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance hanging in the balance, mounted a fourteen play, 72 yard touchdown drive that consumed 7:52 off the clock. Warner hit running back Tim Hightower on a short screen for the go-ahead, game clinching score that will forever live in Cardinal infamy.
